You could just open corpses with a double click to prevent the issue... You could use Razor or UOS...

Also keep in mind that using a teleporter tile refreshes your house like opening a door does - makes it easy to refresh when entering a house --- and keeps things secure.

I think only the deadly poison has a range on it but the poison resist is just inherent to having gun poisoning on a gm mage(ie it is already at your recommendation). @eppy can confirm.
