Where art thou RDAs...?

From what I heard it was only the RDA portals that players opened that bugged out and crashed the server. Shane then invised and blessed all the fragments that still exist. Since player ones can't be summoned I don't see why the normally scheduled ones can't be turned back on.

they were recently stealth-changed to become more randomized at the teary-eyed request of T^C/PCH members so they could hide from pvp inside them.
They were getting pretty predictable when they changed them to spawn in towns and dungeons. It did get a lot more people doing them though and made for a lot more battles to fight for them. Before they were turned off I think they just opened up the possible locations to overland as well as towns and dungeons to make them a little more random.

Makes them a lot more random - now there will be much less competition over them. Search/track for hours and hours again to find them though - not sure which I prefer tbh.

If you want to make it easier you will have to invest in a tracker and work together with a group.
I have a tracker and people to work with - was just commenting on the fact that a slightly more predictable system saved a ton of time. Plenty more competition but that was an acceptable trade to save so much time IMO.

The issue with finding rdas easier was that smaller groups were pushed out by more established groups with larger numbers or those more organised and ready to defend or raid.

Adding in alternative routes for smaller groups to get access to end game content may have been a way forward.

I loved the last RDA system. The only issue was it was heavily favoured towards tamers. As a tamer, I obviously don't mind it but it would be nice to see other classes get a bit better score or have some kind of role in the RDAs.

it was this right here, whoever could have the most #s on always won, small guilds just go shit on (we did plenty of shitting under that system too). a more randomized system helps new players out more, it also rewards those that put in the work and effort to track.

I am a little pissed that i had just finished my runebook set for the new system and then they changed it lol.

if it gets added back the way it was right before they turned it off i will put together a tracking guide to help out new RDA groups.

New system was fun as it almost guaranteed some form of competition. Either in the form of raiding/defending or making it feel almost like a race. Quite a thrill in finding an RDA and then gambling to decide if you should take it or continue searching for the others and the coveted dragon RDA.

As has been said - the biggest issue with this system was that it really became the realm of larger more powerful guilds/alliances to fight it out.

New or old system I am sure I will still have fun hunting down the gates - personally I preferred the more localised spawn pattern as it felt like a QOL improvement but can see the other side to the change.

Lets just hope that they return soon - whatever the changes may be - let the fun begin!

The biggest problem with RDAs is that it came down to who had more tamers in terms of PVPing over them... why? Because they required you to be on foot for some bad reason.
