Vendor Increase Deed - %'s Don't Add Up?

About these deeds.. this is from the announcement from when they were added to the gold sink vendor:

Vendor Increase Deed - This deed will increase the amount of vendors your house can hold by 5%. NOTE YOU CAN ONLY BOOST YOUR HOUSE UP TO 50% IN TOTAL. So you would have to buy this 10 times to hit cap on your house for maximum vendor limit increase.

My question is how these are stacked when it comes to calculations.

My house is max storage with 42 potential vendors. Purchasing one of these deeds would technically yield a 2.1 increase in vendor spots for the first increase. So basically I'd gain 2 spots. But what happens to that extra 0.1? Is it stored on the backend somewhere, so that my next 5% increase is based off of 44.1, or is my next 5% increase deed based off of 42.0 only? The reason I ask is this:

If the calculations take into account the FULL 5% increase each time, I would only need 8 deeds to reach the 50% increase cap, not 10:

42.0
44.1 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#1)
46.305 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#2)
48.62025 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#3)
51.0512625 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#4)
53.603825625 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#5)
56.28401690625 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#6)
59.0982177515625 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#7)
62.05312863914063 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#8) 50% INCREASE CAP REACHED (CANNOT EXCEED 63)

Or, are the increases rounded either UP or DOWN when it comes to the leftover decimal/fraction amount? If the increases rounded either UP or DOWN depending on what decimal is left over after using the deed, the result in my case would be:

42
44.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#1)
46.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#2)
49.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#3)
51.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#4)
54.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#5)
56.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#6)
59.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#7)
62.0 +5% Vendor Increase Deed (#8) 50% INCREASE CAP REACHED (CANNOT EXCEED 63)

Either way you spin it, it looks like I'd only need to use 8 deeds to reach the 50% cap, not 10 as explained in the release notes.

@Adam @Shane, any way some clarification can be provided as to the calculations used for this? I'm considering the deeds but for 500k a pop, I just want to know exactly what to expect from them and how many vendor spots would be gained from each use as I go.

Thanks
