UO Steam FAQ

UO Steam seems to get more and more popular here, so I think some kind of FAQ is in place.

This FAQ you can find some basic questions answered how to get UO Steam started with basic settings as some default settings might get players confused since they are default on Razor.

If you want to help developing this FAQ, you can always add your own questions and answers aswell added there.

So let's begin this.


1) Wait.. where are my reagents in Title Bar?!

- Reagents are not visible in Title bar by default like in Razor, so they have to be added manually. Go to Agents tab -> Counters (subtab). Press "Insert" and then target all of your reagents separately. When you have done this, check the Format section there and put in mind that "cntr", "cntr-2" and such. There are eight (8) reagents available on this shard.

After this, go to Options tab -> Title Bar (subtab again). There is a textarea below, which has "UO - $name $statusbar - $hits/$mana/$stam" by default. For reagents, you have to write %cntr - %cntr-2 etc. to get all reagents in your Title bar. Some might get it writing $nightshade, which will not work.

Below you can find complete line:

Note that you can add any item there by that Agents technique into your Title bar!

2) It doesn't open doors automatically. How do I fix this?

- Go to Options tab -> General (subtab again, not main menu's General) and there you can find Open Doors section top right below Spell Grid. Click "Enabled" and you are done!

3) Lights.. how do I turn them on?

- On the first page of UO Steam there is General tab by default when you open UO Steam. Top left you can find Filters section
and from there "Light". Select it and you can have your 24/7 lights!

4) How do I set higher resolution?

- It's available via Options tab -> General subtab and from there bottom right Game Window section. Select "Resize" and put
1024x768, or what ever you wish for!

For the reagents in the titlebar, you can actually rename the aliases of cntrs to whatever you want. I made mine ns, bm, bp etc. Cntr is just the default alias.

Organizer / restock agents are created in the agents - > organizer tab.

Click new.
Double click the new organizer 1 (if it's your first) to rename it.
Click select containers, then click source container, followed by target container. Should get a green message that says it was successful.
Click insert button (or import I can't remember the word) then click the item you want added to the organizer.

Tip: If it's something stackable, make sure you check "stack" and "complete", or it will fully stock you with what you set it for. This is handy if you want 20 of something, already have 10, and don't need a full 20 more.

So I downloaded UOSteam and went to resize window but my option is greyed out and wont allow me to click anything or check the box. Anyone know how to fix this so I can resize my screen on UOS?

*edit* Nevermind. Error was forgetting to run program as administrator. Just FYI to those who are unaware

Per resizing screen:

You need to do this before you log in. Once the UO login screen pops-up go to the Steam window and change screen size then. Log-in as normal and you will have your larger resolution playing window.

Since steam has been abandoned it will sooner or late go out of date. But anyway i got the api for it if yaneed to for scripting
