Unified vendor market sistem

TLDR: the idea is to have some sort of a catalogue with all the vendors, their descriptions and coordinates

So there is a load of vendors all over the world and this needs some order. Some get more attention, being closer to towns/dungeons. Some get less, some get none. For a populated shard this is better then some physical place with all the player vendors, like a market.

My idea is to put all the vendor ads to one place, like a billboard on britain bank, so that anyone who wants to buy stuff can check ads, see some description about what exactly items are there and SEE THE VENDOR CORDINATES, or a recall rune that can be used to recall to the vendor.

This would remove all the gate spammers from britain bank also. But the idea is to have some sort of a catalogue where one can search for vendors and find needed items, then TP to the vendor.

Lol, this could also be a separate website that is nicely monetizable for guys who sell stuff in UOF. They pay a monthly fee and list their vendor and items on a website, and ppl can search there for stuff and for vendor coordinates.

Such a sistem would make the economy more realistic. Prices would drop a bit. Also possible to introduce new money skink holes. Possible to get an certain average price of an item and track its changes during time. Create a reagent market like that of stocks, lol.

While i do agree that the vendor system could use an overhaul, what you are suggesting will negate a lot of effort people have put in to the accessibility of their shops, for example, high value/traffic property.

What i would like to see is if you click a house sign you get a gump showing all the items sold from that property with some filter, search and sorting options. This would keep the mechanics around making your shop accessible in place but improves the experience for the customer.

I think making some type of concentrated market place / grand exchange / auction house is a bad thing.

Not like this. Just a place where you can check out information about vendors, get their coords and then go running to them ingame, knowing that they hold the needed item you want.

Everyone will use this system to locate items and vendors, pretty much negating high value property beyond being able to shop from the guardzone.

For example, if you implement this systems what would be the difference between a vendor house located in-between Yew moongate and Yew bank compared to a spot in the middle of nowhere.

It will also remove people "shopping" as in, running from vendor to vendor, standing out in the open, sometimes with nice stuff on them :)

just my 2ct from a thief perspective and playing devils advocate for people with nice real estate.

Or empty / nothing for sale vendrs should decay faster even with cash. Like a 1 month decay. It allows time for vacations but it will remove the emptiness.
