Trash tokens?

How do they work? Do I get a bigger chance of getting a token if I drop something expensive in there? Do I have to drop items one by one?

I dropped about 800 items across my two characters and I only got two tokens so far. 99% of it was 1-3gp items but I dropped a bunch of magic stuff in there as well to see if it made a difference... didn't get me anything so I didn't want to drop more expensive stuff in there :<

I'm pretty sure it's not based on value of "trash". I dropped anything of value in there, and I have tokens. And at a better rate than you, it would seem.

I'm pretty, I'm under 100 items dropped. And I have handful. So not based on value, just luck.

Wow, I seem to be getting around 1 token per every 700-800 items I put in... Went from 48 cartography to 99.5 today and dropped the maps in the bin. Got me 1 coin :)

The RNG really must hate me I suppose.

Yep, dropped three pieces of vendor bought platemail armor in the box earlier. Gave me three coins, dropped a bunch of fish steaks, arrows, bolts, bandages etc etc.. nothing... So _extremely_ low chance for bulk items I guess :)

Not all of the items dropped in the barrel give coins.

I guess it depends on which items you drop, magic armor and weapons always give you coins.

It's obvious how the barrel works, the devs don't want us throwing in trash like fish steaks and getting coins. Only things that have decent monetary value at a vendor give you trash tokens, ie. weapons, armor, etc. Not trash clothing, blank scrolls, empty bottles, potions, basically nothing that everyone crafts in bulk, none of that.

No, it's not obvious, that was the problem. But it does make perfect sense when you think about it.

But thanks for all the answers, helps a lot :)
