Too many slayer weapons?

Not that a slayer weapon is a bad thing but the amount we have today makes their value limited uNess you score a power or vanquishing.

What if there was a way you could turn in x ammount of slayers for a chance at a glowing rune?

Just an idea

The slayer crafters can barely keep up with demand for the popular ones. Currently the only type that can be crafted with the chance of power or vanq is bows and carpentry weapons which just dont make sense to attempt to mass produce due to the 200k per 1000 cost for the wood used. If anything I would say slayers hold value better than any crafted thing in the game atm on a smithy and bowcraft lvl.

I was speaking more on the slayers that are found on mobs I got quite a few maybe I'm just really really lucky I don't know? Anyway the idea was in my head is all.

I think there isn't enough variety of slayers on loot. I seem to always get the same minor slayers or silver. I remember slayer types used to drop more on monsters of the opposite type. Not sure if that is in place here though.

I like a lot of Blaine's suggestions mainly for being able to have more control over what you craft. To piggyback on that and take a little from the old system, I think adding slayer type essence to the spawns to collect in order to craft a slayer of the opposite type. For example, killing a bunch of repond monsters you have a chance to collect some powder or magic repond shards. After getting enough you could them imbue a weapon while crafting to make a silver(?) slayer. Vice versa look killing a bunch of undead. I can't remember which types are inverse of each other off hand but I think you can get my point.

If the staff doesn't want crafters to have complete control over the exact slayer they want they can use this system to at least let them craft within a slayer type. So the ability of the crafter would determine if they would craft a super slayer or one of the lesser slayer types within that class. Another option would be to do away with the lesser slayer types and have just the super slayers but tie their intensity to the crafting ability with tiers, similar to how we already have tiers for durability and accuracy.

This is true, the cost of slayers are so low now it really doesn't profit anyone. I think there should be an event barrel where you can throw your slayer weapon into and get points based off the slayer and its accuracy and if it is ruin-vanquishing quality. In return these points could be turned in for a special gift. Top points turned in for most slayers could be rewarded a perfect slayer for every mob in one weapon type.

Slayer craft is fine like it is. Even with all the shops marketing them the popular ones still sell out so I dont see where the market is flooded to the point we need a reward bucket for them.
Bowcraft and carp weapons have colored wood to basicly make the equivalent of any of the runic hammers without the need for BODS but the downside is to actually attempt to make a slayer run with anything over heartwood is VERY expensive if you dont chop the wood yourself so its hard to recoup cost.
