So, right now anyone doing dungeon chests know you generally just gate/recall to each chest, unlock, loot, done.
A lot of people just have all the level 5's marked and that's that. Overall it's a lot of skills just for about 28 chests on a rotation with sub-par loot.
So, my suggestion is a new NPC Guild. The Explorer's Guild.
These NPCs give you Cache Maps. These maps give you directions to a Cache of chests, depending where you are.
Example:
I am in Britain, map reads - "This Cache is located somewhere in Shame"
I am in Shame, map reads - "This Cache is located on a lower level of the dungeon"
I am in Shame Lvl 2, map reads - "This Cache is located to your North West"
Further west, map reads - "This Cache is located to your North"
Further north, map reads - "This Cache is within 10 tiles of you"
After moving around, checking the map - "This Cache is very close by..."
This means the player must actually go and look around and use the map to find the treasure.
Caches:
- Once you are close, you can use Detect Hidden to reveal the Cache. This only works if the Cache Map is in your pack. This reveals a container. The container can be stand-alone or have more containers inside. The container might be a bookcase, chest, anything.
- Caches are locked and need picking.
- Caches are trapped.
- High level Caches are magically re-trapping and require remove trap to disarm completely.
- Successfully opening a Cache completes the Cache Map
- Cache Maps contain items unique to Caches that can be used decoratively or for handing in to the Explorer's Guild.
Handing In:
- You can return to the Explorer's Guild to hand in a completed Cache Map. This gives you Prestige with the Guild.
- You can check your Prestige with the Guild by saying "What is my Prestige"
- Handing in Cache unique items will raise your Prestige by a lesser amount but also give you gold.
- A combination of Prestige and Skill determines the level of Cache Map you can receive from the Guild.
- Once you hit the maximum Prestige you can use spare Prestige as currency with the Guild to get Trove Maps.
Trove Maps:
- These maps function like Cache Maps, but have multiple parts to the map. Once completing one part of a Trove Map, the map will then direct you to a new location, the treasure increasing with each completed part of the map.
- The map will have between 5 and 10 parts to it.
- Troves do not grant Prestige or the unique Cache items, but have better loot.
- All Trove Chests are magically re-trapping.
