So why are we allowing aggressors to house hide again?

Can someone please remind me of the reasoning behind this stupidity?

Someone attacks you and then they're free to run in their house and hide if they start losing.

At least in the days before customs you could wall of stone their steps if you knew they were gonna try to house hide. Now every house has a 20 tile row of teleporters that all lead into the their house with a wall that completely blocks any line of sight inside.

It's a full loot, non consensual 'Full' PvP game.

Many people relate the success of UO to it's realism. It's just not realistic to not be able to enter your house just because you committed a crime.

I'd also like to add that houses are a nice way of avoiding a 30 minute long chase across the map.

OSI rules were if you were the aggressor you couldn't recall or use a house right? Only if you were being attacked could you run. Seems fine to me

I really can't say for sure but from what I remember about OSI (back when they owned Ultima in the 90's..) there was no such recall prevention.

And also there were no house restrictions in the 90's either. If you had the key, the house was basically all yours. :)

If we follow that logic though, how "real" is it to not be able to cast a certain spell just because you committed a crime? What sense does that make? If we're not allowing aggressors to flee, we might as well make it consistent and not allow them to house hide (another method of fleeing).

this from the guy who tricked the GM's into adding walls to bases so that he would only need one skype friend to defend his base while he rocks caps all day.

I'm not going to waste my time arguing about CTF with you. Do you have a reasonable response to what I said or not?

Rage more.

Lol, how you could think I'm raging from that post.. I have no idea. And I already told you, with your logic it doesn't make sense that 1 spell is not castable after committing a crime or attacking someone because it's not realistic (spell casting being realistic aside).

So do you actually have a valid response to that or are you just going to continue to try to troll some more because you don't have anything rational left to say?

Don't see the problem. House placement should give a tactical advantage. If you're fighting someone by their house...try pulling them away and killing them. I thought this was in for factioners already? Sry don't house hide much plz educate.

There just needs to be a cooldown on how often a player can cast wall by themselves (ctf only), to make walling more of a team effort. It should still be possible to do what is possible now, but with 3 players (a good defense) not just 1

All in all, @Arch Enemy is just trying to format the game so that he can employ his winning strategy of always playing the victim to get the advantage.

It's a full PvP game, and he wants to turn it into a Noto PvP game because he only plays blue characters. Plain and simple.

If you come to someones house to fight them, you should be prepared to be at a disadvantage fighting on their home turf.

I didn't come to someone's house just to fight them though. I was minding my own business doing some vendor shopping, they attacked me and then tuck tail and run to their house 1 screen away. I don't see how anybody can think this should be allowed.
