I've played on other private servers and one of the ideas I really enjoyed was the idea of Custom Houses that you can only get via the Crafting System.
The admins would create a set of Custom House Templates that you could only obtain by creating the Custom House Deed utilizing "House Parts" and each unique house would cost a certain amount of "House Parts" before you could create that Custom House Deed.
Creating a single "House Part" would require a certain amount of Iron Ingots and Wood and you would need GM Blacksmith and Carpentry in order to be able to create them. Usually it would take 1000 ingots and 1000 Wood in order to create 1 House Part.
So as an example; Custom House No. 1 would cost 25 House Parts so a player would have to accumulate 25k iron ingots and wood in order to create the 25 House Parts necessary to create a Custom House No. 1 Deed.
You could also make it so that GM Blacksmith and GM Carpentry can create the individual House Parts however you would need 105, 110, 115, and 120 Blacksmith and Carpentry to combine the House Parts into the actual Custom House Deed depending on the Custom House you want to create.
Just an idea that might help boost the mining and lumberjack profession/economy on the shard and add some variety to the housing system.
