Runic Fletching Kits

Any chance we could explore the idea of runic fletching kits?

Maybe make them less powerful than what they were on EA. Perhaps depending on the kit they start to average higher damage and better accuracy. Course making them in Brit gives the added chance that one will pop as a slayer.

Could also act like a sink that instead of bods giving kits as rewards. One would need to drop slayer weapons onto a fletcher for the chance at a random kit.

The runic fletching idea was scrapped with the introduction of the new woods that add magical properties to bows.

That's the best it's gonna get!

What is the need for this when you can already make runic bows without one?

1) More consistent results - have seen a ton of just wasted colored wood bows with minor mods (like just accurate) I have chests of runic weps that have much better results than what I have seen with the special woods

2) Maybe a use for crappy slayer bows that otherwise just sit on a vendor or in a chest taking up space

3) Why not? Anything that breathes new life into a stale crafting market is useful isn't it? I mean we added meta pet's for tamers and talisman for dexers /mages. Can enhance armor to make it slayer armor. Wouldn't some form of bod/rewards not make sense for fletching or carp.

I get where you are coming from. The decision though, because of the ease of gaming the BOD system, was that fletchers would get the advantage of creating runic weapons without runic tools - only rare resources.

This may seem like a disadvantage, however I will tell you this. It took over two years before the first valorite runic hammer was made. It took just over 2 months for the equivalent runic bow to be made. The only constraint is the resources themselves, which people are always willing to gather if you pay them. IMO, the current system is ridiculously easy to get high end weapons in comparison to the traditional BOD route. It is not though, consistent as you said. You do make many bows that you can sell on a vendor for less cash and while making these, you have a good chance to make a runic slayer - where using runic tools essentially means only a minute chance of any runic slayer.

I am always pushing the dev staff for more crafting related items - just ask @eppy - but I think we can accept this current system as it has some unique advantages - like people actually using runic bows out in the field instead of just showcasing them in homes.

It might not be the best system but it gets people chopping out in the world which is my favorite.
