resisting spells info help.

hello,
Ive tried to find info on what resisting spells actually does. Ive heard a few different things and couldn't really get much of an answer off of the forums so i thought id post something of my own.
i figured that ultima online forever would work similar to the regular ultima online, except it kept things back from renaissance era.
so my main source of info on what skills do, comes from uoguide. http://www.uoguide.com/Resisting_Spells (resisting spells in specific).
it states that "This skill helps you lessen the severity of spells that lower your stats or ones that last for a specific duration of time. It does not prevent direct-damage spells, like Energy Bolt or Flamestrike." is this true as well for this server? or does it help resist actual direct damage spell? and if so, where can i find actual information on the mechanics for the ultima online forever server?

No that information is not true for this server. That info pertains to AoS, where the resistances came from wearing armor. Here, resist gives you a chance to take less damage from spells
