Red Summons and Pets

Using Razor, I can't effectively target player characters that are murderers when they have summoned EVs, daemons, and/or have pet dragons, especially while on a boat. I try to target them by using "Target Closest Murderer," but since the pets and summons are also red, Razor will target the non-human "reds" if they're closer to me than the actual player. Perhaps making the pets and summons of murderers grey instead of red will be a quick fix until Razor implements Target Closest Red Humanoid (if that ever happens). I know that EV's are red by default no matter who casts them, but dragons and daemons are either red, blue, or grey.

How about making EV's grey by default by all casters, pets grey by default if the owner is grey or red, and daemons grey by default if the caster is grey or red? It is not like the pet dragons and summoned entities are actually "murderers" -- they're merely doing as they're commanded and have no will of their own.

I know how to macro better than you more than likely. It is not about macros, it is about targeting problems that occur with Razor. The problems make it more difficult to target actual players that are red if they have a lot of summoned daemons or dragons or EV''s. This is especially true on boats, where those daemons and dragons will often make it harder to even target the reds manually, because they're large and often hide player characters.

do you ever wonder why everyone else is better at UO than you?

I'm going to ignore the trolls.

For anyone with a brain who also does not have an immaturity problem, here is further explanation:

I use the following with Razor

Target Closest Enemy Humanoid: Alt+WheelDown (Orange Players)
Target Closest Grey: Xbutton2 (Anything "grey," including monsters, PCs, and NPCs)
Target Closest Grey Humanoid: Control+WheelUp (Grey humanoids, including player characters and NPCs)
Target Closest Innocent Humanoid: Control+WheelDown (Blue humanoids, including player characters and NPCs)
Target Closest Murderer: Alt+WheelUp (Reds, including player characters, NPCs, and NON-HUMAN pets and summons of the the PCs)

You see what the problem is? Probably not, but maybe a developer or some other players might see the problem.

stop using target closest is what Bilb Ono is getting at :)

pull the bar or set them as last target. target closest is good for one thing (ganking)

Let me give just one example:

Player A has two tamers and a mage and brings 4 dragons onto a small boat while the mage summons a daemon. Player A is red on all of his characters, and this makes 8 different "red" targets to sort through. Razor can't correctly identify who the HUMANOID targets are, so the player must manually sort through targets, and the size of the dragons and daemons will often obscure player characters on the boat, making it a lot more difficult to pull status bars of enemy targets open (which also takes time). Player B also has the same setup, but is blue (lets say an anti-pirate). While Player A can quickly use Target Closest Innocent Humanoid to sort through who the HUMAN player characters are on the anti-pirate's boat, Player B can't do the same thing because Razor will often be targeting NON-HUMAN entities, so while Player A is using his characters, pets, and summons to easily target "Innocent Humanoids" and destroy the other player while he/she is trying to get targets down, Player B simply cannot target "Red Humanoids" because there is no option for it. It is not balanced and makes it so that you often have to manually select targets to attack, while the size of the dragons and daemons often obscure player characters, making it even more difficult to quickly get targets down, and time is critical in such a situation.

I'm not even going to reply to any posts that include ridicule and immaturity, but if I notice a mature and intelligent individual reply and I have something to reply with in return, I'll most likely post again here. Thanks.

This is very abusable.

Anyone with any brains is going to have all three of their player characters standing on the same boat tile so that "Target Closest Innocent Humanoid" targets the exact same target with all 3 of their characters. Meanwhile, the other player, even if having all of their characters standing on the same boat tile, is going to often be targeting non-human red pets and/or summons with "Target Closest Murderer," which means he or she will not stand a chance to win any sort of boat battle.

This has nothing to do with macros or any player being "better" than another player, but it does have something to do with targeting issues with red pets/summons and Razor (possibly Steam as well).

There are limitations to any of the three allowed 3rd party programs (Razor, UOSteam, Sallos).

I can see how this can be frustrating for you using Razor. You might try using Next Target to cycle through the targets on the screen. Also you could use UOSteam to accurately depict which type of target you want, as it has the options to not select non-humanoids.

Not being able to target closest red humanoids puts me at a serious disadvantage, so I will have no other choice but to switch over to UOSteam for the time being. I've already learned the ins and outs of Razor and made a lot of lengthy macros with it, and one of the reasons I never even bothered to try steam out is because I already invested too much time with Razor. Razor macros are honestly not that great, but if you get inventive you can do a lot of powerful things with them. The for loops, else statements, if statements, etc. are decent but not "good" and you have to do unusual things to break out of for loops under certain conditions. The macros are also kind of tedious to create and manage. I guess I'll spend the time to recreate everything with Steam unless something quickly changes with Razor or UOF makes the summons and pets of reds grey instead of red so that Razor is not put at such a disadvantage.

Thanks for the info, Halygon.

@Tydeus if you need help setting up steam macros send me a pm, or contact me on Skype: bunnky. Switching to steam may be daunting, but I assure you it is well worth it. It can do everything razor can do + some, and the macro capabilities are bigger with steam. Good luck!
