RDA possible locations, please help us keep our sanity.

Every single person I know who has tracked for these the last month or so is definitely getting discouraged by all the updates to the locations in which RDAs can spawn. It is now a futile effort trying to find these gates with 1 automatically getting destroyed within 10 minutes of it spawning (thanks to anyone in the Minax faction automatically getting instant access to one-- which I still don't quite understand since factions are supposed to be PvP oriented) as well as the possible spawn locations becoming near doubled.

We have had multiple nights already where we have anywhere from 6-10 people searching for TWO STRAIGHT hours of doing nothing but running every square inch that we can cover, and still coming up empty handed. It seems now the only real solution to finding them is to get lucky and come across one when you are running on whatever routine it is you do.

Can we at least cut down some spawn locations on the map? How about removing them from towns? I don't know why they need to have the possibility of spawning in towns. I think most people can deal with RDAs spawning in dungeons, but at least give us a few sections of the entire map that we don't have to check. It is taking wayyy too long and causing a complete dislike for even trying to find these since the changes. It's nice being able to see when they are up with the gem, but I'm not sure how effectively doubling the areas in which we need to search for them is beneficial.

There are definitely going to be instances where RDAs just simply are not found because the effort that we have to put in has not only gone to the extreme, but it has caused it to be extremely boring and puts people in a bad mood all around because people feel like they are wasting their time-- and they really are when you don't find one. Please consider changing the possible spawn locations just a little bit.

Not to mention that if you do find one odds are you just spent 2+ hours earning 6ish people a 105 PS to split...
For sure, it's almost become not even worth it is the consensus I'm seeing from people who go to look for them. I know I've wasted a LOT of time lately looking.

I just want to point out that RDA's were never supposed to be being farmed in the manner in which you and several others have been doing so. It's a bug that you can use tracking to find them in the first place.

TBH, very few in our group actually use tracking, I would say if we have 6 people looking for RDA's only 2-3 are using tracking

well who's fault is that? It's like a bug that was apparently embraced, along the lines of a trapped pouch breaking the paralyse spell. You're not only allowed to use tracking to seek them out but it seemed to be actually encouraged by the tweak that made tracking work as well as it does today.

The point I'm trying to make is that the original concept behind RDA's was that you couldn't really farm them, and therefore they were able to make them give sick rewards. So in my opinion there's no reason to encourage farming of them any further. Sorry to those who like taking the fun out of everything for a few pixels.

For that matter it doesn't really make a lot of sense that none of the RDA's can be done by a random individual who finds one. It's like everything on this server has to be for groups these days, even the events that were never intended to be that way.

Huh? Tracking never intended? Why does the gem give an option to increase track range?

But i somehow agree.. Its mostly a waste of time.. I invest 30 mins max. If i don t find anything i just stop it. Just far too much to cover

for me it sounds as if RDA finally work the way they were intended to be... still not sure if I dont prefer how it was up until now, though.

You must not do RDAs often...

They can be solo'd.
Tracking is about a screen and a half for RDA portals (omg such bug hax)

Make the faction portal only available to factioners and add a third regular portal. Stop spawning them in towns. Listen to the people who actually enjoy running them. I don't understand how we get an entire portal revamp and it turns out to be complete garbage.

Edit: with the exception of portal focus fragments. Those things are cool.

The tracking is literally not much larger than 1 screen away. It's really not that much of an advantage and anyone can level tracking. Like others have said though, not all used tracking. What did happen though was people put in hours and hours of boring, tedious, long work so that we could get the benefits. Now making them nearly impossible to find, except by way of exploit like $ is using every single time they spawn-- without punishment, has more than doubled the effort to find them and two things don't make sense to me:

1.) Why should they spawn in towns? This is just weird to me, I can't think of a reason-- unless it's an event-- that an RDA should be spawning inside a town.
2.) Why should factioners get an automatic portal to 1 of 3? Factioners have been complaining about PvP changes, why do they get a free entry into the end game PvM content? All this does is make everyone join Minax so they can find one gate.

If you're going to automatically give the factioners one, at least make it faction ONLY and make 3 normal portals and 1 faction portal or something to this effect. I really don't think it's asking too much to have one area of the entire map where RDAs cannot spawn.

Complicated situation, but I think I can handle this one.

Firstly, I want to clarify that I don't agree with the gem having the option to pay to increase the tracking range. At all. I don't agree with a lot of what it is, does, and stands for...but I mean for fucks sake. Paying 250k for increased tracking range when you already have 4.25m invested in the damn thing already is ridiculous. Should be the first upgrade, it should be minor, and it should not cost a lot of gold if we want relatively newer players getting into end-game ish PvM content...If we seriously want them to actually find them and make them easier to locate for the average player.

But, being the way it is let's just assume that only a mere handful of people have gone all-in on these gems. Which is probably close to reality. That means the masses are now competing to find RDAs across alllllllll of Brittania without enhanced tracking ability like the handful of wealthy vets. Vets who are rolling deep on top of being able to pay to win.

That is bad.

Long story short: the chance of RDAs being anywhere slows down the vets but it slows down everyone else that much more. Average playera now have a larger area to cover, an issue which is now compounded because they are at a disadvantage without the increased tracking range...which is kinda fucked anyway.

the fact that RDA's mostly don't give you anything but a 105 PS makes it completely fine in my eyes that people are competing/paying to do these. If these dropped better loot more consistently, it would be overpowered and imbalanced.

Well that's another thing you can pay to increase drop rates...wtf?

Even still the drop rate is probably abysmal. Thus, for many, making the juice not worth the squeeze unless you are rolling deep or have deep pockets. I say fail, but that's just me.

you have money. A lot of people have tons of $... it helps the server economy having rich people eat 2 mil for a tiny advantage that will probably never result in making 2mil back (and increased tracking range is only 50 tiles same principal)

And having RDAs in dungeons makes sense. Now you got a better chance of coming across one while playing the game

yeah they are a little harder to track, but get over it.. No new player/"little guy" has ever been doing RDAs, so acting like they are the main reason you are upset about the changes is kinda ridiculous

You haven't made a decent argument about why not to have them in towns
It's my opinion, they never had spawned in towns before and I don't see the point in the change. If that's your opinion then fine, but in the same manner, I don't see a decent argument as to why they SHOULD be spawning in towns.

Idc about the gold sink. Agreed they should be in dungeons. They're dangerous places and RDAs fit right in. They should also remain in the wilderness.

Mostly what we're saying is they shouldn't be in towns, and faction portals should be fixed. My reason for not wanting them in towns is because that's so much ground to cover while tracking. Guilds that are dedicated to finding them already devoted a lot of time tracking with the previous system.

The way it is now, it encourages people to use coordinate runebooks with a macro that recalls to locations around the map at max track range and tracks any RDAs in range. If an RDA is found, the macro stops. ]$[ guild is the only group I know of that has access to a library such as this. So that means I can spend 2 hours tracking all over the map with 5 other people, but I may never find the RDA that the runebook coordinate macro user will eventually find.

Before the changes, it was a lot of ground to cover, but doable. Now it's just a little too much. It discourages groups that dedicate the majority of their game time to actively searching for and running RDAs.

You probably don't take ten seconds out of your day to talk to any newb or random so your finger is so far off the pulse of what goes on here, this thread or this server as a whole.

It is not about rich guys complaining for their own benefit and self-servitude...that's some POWER bullshit. It's about rich guys saying hey this is kinda fucked up for everybody.

Everybody.

Had to clear that up real quick. You are a complete and total knob so I forgive you.
