What is the deal with these suits? They used to not take a durability hit which made them semi-desirable despite having very low AR. Then it was changed to where they took a durability hit but couldn't be repaired then it was changed to where they could be repaired...??? How do these suits of armor work right now?

I vote it goes back to how it was originally: No durability hit so it doesn't need to be repaired :) This would bring some value back to platinum coins as well...

I'm all for it that idea.. I've been trying to sell my platinum forever and a year but there isn't anything worth buying on the platinum vendor atm. When the phoenix armor and ranger armor didn't require constant maintenance (especially after macer PK attacks, which there are many) people actually bought platinum.

I'm all for making them not take damage anymore or ditching plat and allowing it to be used on gold sync vendor for a higher exchange...Ever since these armors were changed to take damage, i've only seen them used during events and on display because macers destroy them in no time...and the AR they provide is rather useless for pvp anyhow

I don't think the purpose of these were ever to give a blessed suit of armor to a PvPer - so yeah, the AR is not competitive vs magic/runic armor that most people wear.

This is a PvM or "Look at me" item. I mean either type is great for the billions of PvM archers that typically wear no armor at all (because they don't want to lose money when they die). As long as you are not in drawn out fights with other players, then the armor will pretty much last you forever.

Armor that does not take damage AND is blessed is the definition of OP unless it has no AR whatsoever.

Macers can destroy a piece of armor in a matter of minutes..that's why i shelved my armor.. rather die naked then die wearing broken armor

I know, I was just playing devils advocate.

It's obviously not PvP armor, so if you are using it for PvM (instead of nothing), then if you are attacked by a dexxer, you might want to just have a dress macro to remove the armor for justin.

Honestly, I think its really useful armor as it is.

If u cant recall shit hit ur undress macro boom shed the armor and not get it broke. I woukdnt mind a set they look neat buuuuuuut platinum takes forever to acquire

give platinum coins another good use please... beside the 2 armors there is nothing useful... or spawn something else in paragon chests too.. like skillscrolls...

I think phoenix is 25 AR for a full suit, at max durability, which is lower than leather if i'm correct. Leather of course having 0 dex loss and is medable.

In terms of PvP, you can have armor that does not take damage AND is blessed and still not be overpowered at all if it's as bad as phoenix or ranger are here.
