They used to be paired with clockwork assemblies and one could build their own golem. Now they are just pixel porn.
But, alas, that seems to be a long gone feature.
Lets have them do something other than take up a lockdown and look pretty. Enough pixel porn.
Idea-ers to enhance the worth/value of "Power Crystals" : (totally open to more)
-they are non blessed, stealable. As is the case now. Keep that.....but, make them slightly harder to get.
-smithies use them to enhance shields/armor with spell reflect? or bless? or protection? (charges on shield/armor?) 115 smithy and 100 magery skill or greater for possible success? play with the numbers but something with that capability should require at least 2 gm skills to have a chance at creating.
-use them to enhance defensive spells 6th circle and below? (hold/absorb a spell to fire off when double clicked?) non blessed. stealable.
-when four of them are placed on the floor, around an enemy, perhaps a lightning spell on one of them would relay to all four....trapping and damaging the monster? player dumb enough to walk in the middle of it? could be a fun PvP angle for those skilled and crafty killers out there.
-crafters can use them to up their chance of crafting success when equipped? again, stealable and lootable.
-use them as 'enhancers' to already craftable items? cannon, for example, would be created with X amt of experience already present? Creates a 'perfectly accurate" cannon? Enhance cannonballs?
-place them on your vendor, and make them double-clickable for the potential buyer to ask the seller a question? negotiate price? alert them to come to the vendor to speak? (could be fun PvP angle, too)
-equipped by a thief gives them a 10stone bonus to the weight of items they can jack? (Remember, these arent blessed and are lootable/stealable)
-equipped by a fisherman/woman and it would alert to..........big fish? random items? random spawn?
-have them necessary to open certain chests in dungeons? loot from spawns? champs? dungeon puzzles?
