Plant box

So you store plants in there in unlimited amounts until you want to take them out and grow them?

there is already a seed box where you store unlimited seeds. He wants a box to store the grown pants.

I think for organization this would be great. But I think they should still take up storage.

The seed box let you store seeds by type.

Here is what it looks like :

I don't know if there's a limit, and there could be, really. The idea is to not have them manually sorted in crates and bags but in the box, and then you can click on a tab, chose a plant type, and have it in your backpack!

Nope, I understand that. I have grown my fair share of plants.

My question is, would the plants to grow while in the "plant box"? Would there be a lower number of lockdowns/storage taken up as opposed to the current pot locked down method?

If your suggestion is that the same number of item/storage is taken up and that the plants grow in the box, meaning the advantages are:
  • Less tiles taken by Plants in housing, and
  • a quicker interface for accessing, tending, and pollinating your plants
...then it may be a favorable solution, but it may also be seen as a way to mass produce plants too easily while taking up almost no space at all.

One of the things that actually allows a market for plants is that most folks do not want to deal with them, regardless of the deco or bonuses they provide. Making growing plants this easy, could ruin the current (already small) market.

Lets see what others think.

Market for plants? Is there one of those?

I just meant a box to store them, with a menu to access specific types like the seed box. Not to grow them :)

So the purpose would be to soley just organize already grown plants (and put more than 125 in a box at once)? If you are not growing the plants and they are in the Deco status (as opposed to growing/polinate status) then I wouldn't see any economic or potentially abusable problems.

Would be a useful item for other players?

It would be easier to find a certain plant, because they are big and use a lot of bag "space", so they're all piled up and it's annoying.

Could require the plant to be in decorative mode.

I would find it useful, if I get that far into gardening. I'm sure @Bunnky would have loved this back when he was running his plant vendor. Actually I'd still find it pretty handy, I just doubt it'll ever be something I can afford... =p

Unlimited storage in the box would be nice, even if it still uses up house storage. Unlimited, or at least 5k like the seed box!

Seed box is 5k plat right now, I think the same price for the plant box would be cool. Pretty much the same purpose.

Yea, as @Dahee mentioned, seed box holds 5k seeds.

This would be an absolutely wonderful thing, just for storage. Ideally, I think the box would only hold "decorative plants" (deco mode only), and maybe hold half the amount the seed box can: 2500.

The only current solution is to separate them all into bags, which is a nightmare and a half. When I (or someone) need a specific dark red plant(for example), and your dark red bag has 125 plants, it's basically a cluster fuck. Having a box similar to the seed box that sorts the plants based on color and type would be SO much easier. Especially for large scale growing. This is something I would have killed for, and still would!

If it's going to use house storage I think it should be cheaper, though... the seed box doesn't use house storage so that's a reasonable price to me.

1 plant produces 8 seeds so 400 plants would be just even. And, really, if you have more than 400 plants it's time to farm some trash tokens lol. Anything could work tho. I doubt anyone ever had 5000 plants heh.

But yeah I agree with everything you said.

I'd prefer no storage because storage is already very limited, even with the UBER expensive storage upgrade that only provides 5% per deed.

I think something like this could be beneficial. But how many gardeners are on the server right now? Half a dozen? Maybe ten? Is it viable to create such an item for such a tiny part of the community?

If they put something in the vorpal bunny loot table people would start gardening. As it is the only plants that make much money are orange petals, and pw/black plants (when you are lucky enough to find a buyer).

Quite the opposite for me. I can't keep my plant vendor stocked. That's why I wouldn't need the device. But you're right, the profit isn't in the plants, it's in the resources. Still, I do ok.
