Parry question

Does parry have any impact on magic, you always see the guy holding up his shield to part the fire breathe around him....still hot as hell but eh.

So basically does having a shield and GM parry or any parry skill reduce dmg taken from magic? Not looking for Resist Spells level of dmg reduction.

no not in this era the abilty to reflect some spells ect was added in the osi expansion " samuri emprie" and magic resist stats where added to armor/shields in Age of shadows along with spell channel shields that where not chaos/order.

Spell channeling would be awesome but change the game too much.
