you could use a pick axe and a shovel at the same time to mine faster and 2 spots at once or something.....i dont know i never mined since the second i found out no double colored ore in FEL

yeah, can use a shovel/pickaxe on the same vein at once.
And for the double smelt, whaaaaaaaaat da fook. How does higher mining skill give you LESS CHANCE to get a double smelt.. makes 0 sense.

When I mine sand I mine in North South East West at the same time... of course that's a whole different thing.
