My Noob Tip for evading PKs while farming.

Step 1 - Keep runebook full of recall scrolls
Step 2 - While farming keep runebook Open * And PAY ATTENTION TO WHATS GOING ON
Step 3 - When you see PK Recall out

It's like magic.

I can only assume the PK cry is coming from people who are a bit too relaxed while farming gold, after all I did watch EV's at a IDOC yesterday just killing people who apparently think it's safe to be AFK while standing at an IDOC. Complacency Kills in UO

Tbh, the only complaints I have seen have been from complete noobs or vets who took a 10 year break and returned to a UO:R shard with a bit of a different ruleset than they remember. I raged my first couple weeks here after taking a 10 year break myself. And I knew (for the most part) what I was getting myself into. I havent been Pk'd while farming in months. Recall macro makes it pretty easy to get away.

The people who are complaining are the ones new to the shard who dont know about recall macros, or "show incoming names" setting on razor, ect. Once they find out about some of these "tips" they have much less issues. I know that I was greifed endlessly for my first couple weeks on the shard. I brought another old-school GL player with me, and he quit after a couple weeks. He said to me "there are just too many lame PKs who pick on noobs."

I'm a farming tamer, and do get frustrated once in a while from PKs killing me, but as mentioned in previous posts its typically because I either a.) try to fight back and lose, or b.) they get the jump on me, and my dumbass doesn't have potions etc. Either way its just being prepared... another key thing to emphasize on is location location location. I used to try to farm Shame 5 consantly for weeks, getting pkd over and over. Wtf was I thinking? If you get pkd relentlessly at one location, find a better location. The map isn't as large as WoW or other games, but it does offer quite a bit of different places to farm... don't limit yourself to a single spot. Recalling from spot to spot also helps avoid pks, and improve profitability.

Until you come across a good pk who won't drop their e bolt until they see your kal ort por appear, fizzling you and preventing you from recalling on the go in a second attempt.

The better idea is what I do, have at least 50 Magery on every pvmer (im a provo dexxer) and always have regs. Simply set your house or town rune as your default rune and set a hotkey for recall. Then all you need to do is hit your hotkey then target your book.
50 magery is easy to fit on a pvmer. I drop my anatomy and resist spells to 80 and healing to 90.
It works well as you don't need 100 resist spells cause you're recalling from pks anyway and 80 anatomy is enough to res with aids, not really taking away from the damage increase loss too much especially since I use slayer weapons

I too was PK'd many, many times in my first few weeks. Now I barely ever get pk'd at all. I think over time I just gradually learned when/where/how to play this game defensively and now it's just automatic.

If you're new, remember -- EVERY death is YOUR fault. Because you haven't learned something yet, or didn't prepare properly, or pushed your luck just a tad too much. Learn to be hard on yourself and assess why you died, what you would do differently if you could rewind 2mins, and just improve yourself to learn better for next time.

Mmmm.

I know a good one:

New donation item, if you pay 25k dono coins recall can no longer be disrupted(character basis, not acc bound). Shane gets money and whiny players get closer to trammel without screwing legit players so much.
