It just hit me, it would be rather interesting to have the different wood types for instruments provide different pitches to the sounds of each wooden instrument. So that a standard wooden flute, lute, etc plays the original sounds, and with each tier of wood, the pitch drops to deeper, richer notes.
It would not effect the mechanics of the instruments in any way, only grant a more diverse and interesting sound to the notes that come from your instrument, to add variety.
Not really looking for this to be implemented, but a thought I had that I wanted to share to see other's thoughts. I mean, if you hear an instrument, it's the same sound that we've all heard for many years and the different wood types gives us an easy, and logical, basis to expand on solely for our enjoyment of the game's sounds.
