Issue with Captcha

Trying to talk a buddy through install and setup. Everything went very smooth for me as I'm a computer dummy, no complaints.

He is having an issue with the Captcha image not appearing on screen is him prompting him to set internet explorer as his browser.

Is internet explorer required to view thIs?

shouldn't be required. Maybe have him try to disable some of his browser plugins?
