Infected Wounds - What would you change?

Infected Wounds is arguably the least effective of all the meta dexxer / mage relics. Zerkers are however already insanely powerful, so any change to Infected Wounds would need to be a sensible one! I know some people have individually raised the ineffectiveness of Infected Wounds but there isn't much of a record on the forums.

What changes would you make to the relic? Would you adjust it slightly or change it altogether?

Some ideas:
- Rend: Blood ticks rather than poison so that poison resist would no longer blocks application
- Frenzied state: Temporarily increases swing speed or hit chance against monsters, uses agility potion for charges
- War cry: Similar but lesser effect to discord, weakens the monster temporarily, only applies to your damage
- Weapon throw: Ranged attack which hurls your weapon at monster

Yes @eppy has said this was his # 1 suggestion I would hope to see it implemented now w a bit more a following!!!

Let us please have it, its been too long with this useless relic.

Think rend would be the most sensible. The other suggestions are awesome but to keep it more balanced, I think bleed would be most fair.

I would have loved to have seen something like having chance to increase damage done when you are damaged, to keep in line with berserker theme but I think it would make berserker too powerful

Add my name on the petition for it to become a bleed attack.

I would also really like to get whirlwind. I know staff seem to be reluctant to give berserkers AoE attacks.

Beserkers are powerful enough. (Well not next to OP tamers, but then again nothing else is either!) I play a meta dexxer w/ infected, using DP against large mobs that can't cure it. If they're immune to poison, then it doesn't work. Why should it? Otherwise, those dmg ticks add up to plenty of extra damage over time for large mobs like paragons. The problem is that a high level zerker is doing so insanely much damage in such short order that they generally kill the mob before seeing those ticks add up. Well boo hoo hoo. What are you, a F-ing primadonna crybaby tamer?

As for whirlwind, there is already doublestrike! And if you want to increase your swing speed... that's what blue pots are for.

As a lvl 10 meta with level 6 infected and doublestrike, I can take down dragons in four or five hits. Lower level stuff like ettins often go down in ONE strike (not even a DS) with a slayer or vanq. Oh yeah, and at lvl 10 you can wear whatever you want for armor too.

It's powerful enough just as it is. The only thing I'd like to see is something like a gold relic to get more loot and turn stuff into paragons like the meta pets have. I'd gladly give up my phase shift slot for that.

If they fix infected wounds and not nox relic (been asking For this since forever basically) i will be REALLY pissed

The problem I have with fixing nox is that dragons are already crazy with quicksilver and nox is aoe lethal poison. Adding even more seems counterproductive.

zerkers seem just as crazy tbh may b even more so. why buff the top 2 relics/metas?

Everything with magic just cures it before it even ticks once. And at low level champ spawns it's not great either because those small mobs like rats and lizardmen just get killed by molten before The poison Can tick anyways. Not to mention lots of mobs can't even be poisoned (see deceit lvl1 champ spawn)


I'm sure there's a way to make it not suck without making it OP

saying this as a lvl 10 berserker... berserker is already crazy strong.. its #1 regarding killspeed (a quicksilvered metadragon being the exception) already... if u combine it with slayer armor, it becomes a beast! not sure berserker needs any love.

but i agree.. the incurable poison doesnt do much for a berserker. simply because berserker kills far too fast. it would make more sense on the deff guy..

yea Im ok with you guys scaling it down a bit as long as that defense tailsman is turned off vs player pets.
