I thought on renting rather than owning a house

It's no secret that housing has gotten a little hard to come by. Has the idea of renting out the "NPC" dwellings ever come up?

On a different shard I tried out before coming here (the shard wasn't the greatest; low player base, and no RP despite it being an RP server) there was a system of letting players rent Inn rooms, or the empty useless NPC dwellings; Inn rooms having a weekly auto-withdraw of x-amount of gold and houses having a monthly with-draw of x-amount of gold based on the size of the room/dwelling.

The rules of renting being the same as ownership as long as you pay your dues. And I hope the same shard rules would apply (1 house, OR (not AND) rent per account).

Yes shane has mentioned this idea, renting out rooms in unpopulated cities. But you wrong, there is so many open house spots. Mainly 7x7 but just last night i come across 3 thar would fit a 8x10 or 9x10 . Also there is a lot of bigger plots fir sale and coming up for bid every day

I didn't say it was super difficult, just that you can wonder the woods for awhile and not find a spot bigger than 7x7 usually.

As for dealing with other players.... maybe you don't know how anti-social I am. #RogueLyfe

Regardless though, I'm glad the idea has come up. Having a place in the city would be nice. Possibly even creating actual player communities within the city (I'm looking at you, Trinsic.)

I think there are a lot of open housing spots around. This could still be a fun idea, having city housing.

housing is easy to find, you can open area to place pretty easy, i know Yew has a ton of open spots especially far east of the moongate. You won't find a max storage spot free but 7x7-12x12 are there to be placed

Word; I've been wondering how many illegal land-grabs have been made. But maybe the server really does have that many players; I hope so.
But there are hundreds of houses out there that are literally just empty foundations with no walls, or anything.
