How to make Booty Island active!

A big question has been for the past months ever since Booty Island was published, what is that island for? Why nothing in there? Why no action...

It could be done so easily to get the traffic done there and even the house values get increased and a nice land for PvP.

So below is how to do it...

How to do it

1) Remove the "No Mount" rule from there. Its needless. Been since day 1, when the island got opened.

2) Add some special mobs and spawns to encourage players to get in there in hopes of new loot.

3) Open up a new dungeon or two, which entrance is at the Booty Island. Make a cool opening event for that.

4) Place bankers and other necessary NPCs in Booty Town. It has never had official name, but it could be that.

5) Make the Booty Town non-guard zoned as it is more like a pirate town. New place for reds.

6) Give some purpose to The Witch Doctor.


The island has like 3 cool looking locations for new dungeons and places to hunt mobs!

Ancient Castle, which could be filled with some difficult mobs and some harder world spawn.

So much cool stuff there and easy to get traffic there.


Let's make Booty Island active!

tbh the only place there should be mountless is booty island, having mountless in the yew area is annoying according to everyone.

whole purpose of no mount was supposed to be t2a right?
t2a is better with mounts anyways.

it's been almost a year and not a damn thing has been done with this island.. why keep moving to other projects when there's so much shit left to be FINISHED?

anytime I'm after some island booty I just grab some rum and a fat spliff and head down to the beach

T2A is too big to be mountless and yet it has no land to place houses as the land is 99% bumpy, so not possible to add houses there according to RunUO rules.

If there's too much for the devs right now, why not allow players to create dungeons and then have the community vote on the best looking one to implement? Sort of like Steam's Greenlight. I think there's a huge untapped resource in the player-base for helping create/curate content. Toss the folks whose design wins some dono coins and everybody wins.

There's precedent for this as the grotto is a player designed dungeon

t2a was made bumpy so housing couldn't be placed there, but it was only because they didn't want to add any new housing to the game when it was added.

When booty island was added, it was supposed to be no recall zone, but that was changed about a day after it was added. Booty island should go back to being unable to recall there.

They've also said a few times months ago that they were developing the dungeon, but nothing has been done there. Once the dungeon is open, booty island will become populated. That's all that needs to be done to it. They just need to add spawn, dungeon is already created.

I didn't know about all the things @drinn posted. I barely have been on the island because I just didn't see the point. I love all the ideas.

Add spawn , random miniboss, random special mount hued.. Open a dungeom and a champ spawn = island live

I like Booty mountless. Gameplay has a different feel mountless, and there's no option for it besides the Orc area. Well, I mean, I know you can do it anywhere, but it's not good to be mountless with mounted PKs and farming competition aobut.

I agree, add some spawns to those areas in the OP. Is that so hard?

And why did they remove the dragon SE of Bootytown? It's like they're expending effort to make it suckier instead of betterer. I just can't understand it.

Cause POWER didnt like dragons on their front lawn.
