How to cross-breed mutant plants/seeds

There's an option to pollinate in the menus at a certain point than let the plant go to seed

Let me rephrase my question. Do I need to cross-breed diff type of plants AND in diff colors (e.g. non-plain) to get a chance of having mutant?

Check around google. I'm not exactly sure if it was stratics or other site, but I seen all possible combinations somewhere.

I googled b4 posted this question. Both websites only mentioned if u cross-breed then u will get a slim chance of getting mutants. It didn't say what r the combinations, i.e. diff plant types AND diff colors, or diff plant types but same color, or same plant type but diff colors.

Anyone has gotten mutant seeds b4 and know the answer? Thanks!

you can not get a mutant plant from crossbreeding a plain hue plant... i'm not sure if the hue must be different.... yet i have never bred a mutant from the same 2 colors...

I've produced a few mutants, but only from crossbreeding different breeds... I was led to believe you can create a mutant from the same type, but I can't confirm that
