How does RDA relic loot work

Total newb question but how does the relic drop system work, when the boss dies does it go in someone's bag or do I have to fist fight trying to be a fast looter grabbing it off the bosses corpse

Get the rda gem asap, the loot drop upgrade gives you a double chance at a relic. I have gotten 2 relics at once thanks to it.

It's on the gold sink vendor for a mil, then you need to drop another 2 mil to get the drop rate bonus.
