Housing Hiccups

How do houses work out the number of secure locked down items in homes? Is a stack of something one item or is each item counted?

I recently brought a new house after loosing my originals in the DDOS (I logged in to refresh houses, a role back must have happened and when I jumped on a couple of weeks later no more houses or shineys).

My new house is an original (uses keys) and my old houses were both customs and did not (I think that's the right terms!).

In the smallest of my original houses I'm sure I had 9 secure locked down chests, and far more than that in the larger one. In my new house I can only have six - is there a smaller number of secure chests allowed in the original houses?

Far more weird - I'm already at 627 locked down items in the house - yet I only have:

Maybe a dozen armor sets (so 72)
30 or so weapons (30)
20 other misc things
A bag full of regs

Try as I might, I can't make the total hit 627 unless I start counting stacks are more than one (and on regs alone I'd be over 627). Have I missed something fundamental here?

Oh - and if the secure container limit is only six for the current house then WTB another house for my other account!

With the original houses, secure containers use the full 125 lock downs. Doesn't matter if it is empty or full they take the full amount.
