Hello Guys, am new and interested

Hey guys,

I never played the original UO or new UO but I did play IPY 2, and I had a blast. I am a sandbox lover. Played RS,SWG,EVE,MO, and DFO.

So I have a few questions:

Is this shard/server really populated?

Also I read around a little bit and it looks like the devs are responsive to the community and the patch notes seem to be really cool.

How is the pvp populate like, this is one of the things I like to do most

Is there conquest for territory? sieges? I read the expansion will offer militia or something, that looks pretty cool.

And if any guilds wanna take on a newbie let me know, I love to win and will be macro'ing a pvp char as fast as I can

I don't know specifics, but I would think this shard has the highest average population out of the freeshards.

The devs do seem to be pretty active and dedicated to the shard. Seems like with most patches they are doing well and moving things in good directions.

Currently where I believe the shard lacks the most (but has been picking up some) is the pvp area. It's not bad by any means, but just not enough people are willing to go out and fight. I don't necessarily think this is anything that the staff here can fix. I think it is more a problem with the populations mentality here. Hopefully down the road more people will play the game for more than barbie doll dressup at the bank and pokemon battles with their dragons and turn to pvp. Not trying to turn you or anyone else off to the shard because of this. There is still enough pvp to be had and probably more so than any other freeshard out there.

Militias sound cool and hopefully will bring more people to the pvp scene. Will be interesting to say the least.

We have the most populated (unique IPs) shard out of all free shards around. The PvP is different than other shards because most people play here because of the great enhancements and continuous updates and pvp , while popular is second to PVE/PVM. A lot of our population is new to UO, which means that it's not uncommon to see players that have never played UO and are enjoying it.

As far as what you will see here vs other shards - you will see players in the actual dungeons or on the roads and in the cities. It was odd to me the first time I joined UOF in 2013 because I had grown used to free shards not being well populated.

I think the shard speaks for itself well, so go out and try it.

Make some friends and get into a guild. There are lots of great folks around and the devs are always cooking up something new (see: upcoming Grinch Christmas event).

The shard is dynamic and within a short time you will meet sinners and saints, jerks and generosity. Enjoy it for what it is: not like anything else out there.
