Hat Layering

I'm curious as to the specifics on how it works.
How do you choose which one you want on the outside?
I have a Black dono Tribal mask and want to layer it with the blaze dedicated bandana.
I haven't even bought the deed yet but was curious as to how it worked.

You layer the one you want underneath. So if you want to put your bandana on on top of the mask (like some people do for some reason - probably because their parents still dress them in the morning), you'll want to layer the mask. It goes on the earrings slot (like the layered sash), which means you cannot have a layered sash and a layered hat on at the same time.

You can, however, double-click a layered hat to toggle the layer for it. Wish you could with the sash, as well...

I bought the deed and when I double click it it's saying "select A hat to layer. This reassigns the layer to the earrings, which will allow it be displayed even with a forever robe on."
From these instructions, it sounds like I should target the bandana.
I want the banana on top of the tribal mask. I fear if I target the wrong item, the bandana will end up underneath the tribal mask and I wouldn't even be able to see it.

The earrings go under the hat. You need to target the mask so the mask is considered "earrings" and the bandana is still "on top". You could page in to be sure, but we thought layering was like a sash - it went on top - and we had to page to have it re-deeded.

Yeah you layer what you want to have riding underneath, so Snickle you want to layer the mask. I've done several and I can confirm this to be the case.
