Friend to a house question

So, I'm new to the server. Not new to UO, though it's been a while since I played.

I met a dude the other day who friended me to his house. Now, I figure I have the right to enter the house now, right? Is there a way I can unlock the door or do I just have to wait until he's home?

It depends really. As the house owner, he can change the access settings for many things in the house...containers, doors, runebooks etc. Most likely he set the doors access setting to co-owner or owner only, thus not letting you open them. So yeah, you'd just have to wait to catch him online if you wanna get inside the house
