They can come in four color patterns, one of which is pure black. Whether or not that means it's a 25% chance is unknown. The color code is 0 according to UOSteam.

Stats will increase with training. Str is usually near max but int normally increases and dex can increase 20+ pts, though over 100 dex only helps run speed.

i thought they didnt increase..only to their max if its under 100 for dex.

for example..the str on that mare and int will not increase..but the dex will until 100. only way to get over 100 is if it already has it once tamed...and it varies from 101 to 105..and will not increase.
