Yes, our host sql server crashed few days ago which kept causing our sessions table int he sql database to keep going corrupt after repairing it 4 times ultimately it had to be recreated in order to fix it which put the forum back to the way it was before the sql crash.

Whoa someone doesn't have a clue what they are doing then if trying to repair their SQL script still kept corrupting. Shouldn't have corrupted in the first place. I would say that all they should have had to do was take down the database to the time of their server crash and restart it to a few minutes after their crash. Well it really depends on why their SQL server crashed in the first place I guess but wow it must have messed up a lot of data to cause such a revert.

What if they don't have transaction logs turned on? Maybe they just do a full backup weekly with an overall grandfather rotation?

In addition if it is a corrupted table within the database then it may be extremely difficult to correct in a short amount of time.

Since this is a service, they were probably looking at the quickest low impact solution. Let's be honest here, we didn't really lose much of anything by reverting the forums -- unlike a game revert. Shit happens, just make the best out of it.

Now if they reverted like a whole month back --- Then I might call lazy...

I just removed the table manually and rebuilt the one table that kept crashing. It all happened the day the host went down all day. No idea what happened to their sql server anyway all taken care.
