Fishing Questions

Okay so I am 99.0 fishing now and the only interesting things that happened were this: I pulled up a "big fish" then it says the island is marked on my map and to go to it before it sinks??? I was then told to use a special fishing net to make sure I am in deep water... so I bought one and it pulled up a water element that was quite a battle... killed it and got 1100 gold and 6 black pearls... do I need to continue to use and lose special fishing nets or use my fishing pole to get the good loot???

So right after i posted this I got 2 deep sea serpents within 10 mins. with a fishing pole.. only got a treasure map from them for the land.. I suck at finding buried treasure.

First GM fishing. Next you will pull up fish, magical fish, and big fish. These are trash. When you get serpents, kill them. They will drop a net, a message in a bottle, or a treasure map. Nets pull mobs to kill, MIBS you go to coordinates and pull up a treasure chest, treasure maps are for land.

How do u do the coordinate thing? Also does that work for land? Or is treasure digging hit or miss?

Use UOAM an plot new Labels. I tend to do 25-100 MIBS in 1 hit it takes ages to plot all the coords into uoam but well worth the effort when pulling them up.

Sail to it , fish it up, kill mobs delete label, Next MIB.

UOAM also has points for the treasure maps. Then find a rune library that has the treasure map books and recall to that number. Use a shovel, dig up the chest, loot, kill mobs, loot them. Then click on chest for context menu to destroy the chest so people behind you can use that same spot. Otherwise the chest sits there for 3 hours and no one else can use it.

The map numbers are sort of hard to find how to turn on in UOAM, it take a bit of looking if you can't find a guide.
