First time playing ultima

Hi, it's my first time playing Ultima Online in any capacity. I've noticed anything I type automatically goes into the chat window... is there a way to disable that?

Look for help with the young guild. Don't be discouraged with the learning curve.. Before u decide this game is not for you find a guild to help u. Good luck.

The answer is yes and no.

The UO client does not allow you to turn it off and everything typed will go to the chat area and be displayed when you press enter.

Razor and UOSteam hot keys will not display in chat area if pressed unless you have the "Pass to client" option enabled for that hot key. In both 3rd party programs you can set a hotkey to "disable hotkeys" which will then allow everything typed to go through without initiating any hotkey actions.
