Finished my red last week, what I've noticed so far

I've only used my red for solo PKing so you can say I'm only looking at it from one angle, but heres some suggestions I have after a week of solo PVP:

-40% poison rate is too high. Fighting against poisoners you have to basically drink a cure pot every other hit, this is just stupid. They already essentially have 2 special attacks vs my 1, and if you get stunned you are pretty much going to be getting hit 3 times during that which might as well be a guaranteed poison to go with it. You basically need to be running around with 20+ cure pots if you want to even fight vs a poisoner. I know this server isn't 100% era accurate, but there's a reason 95% of the dexers I run into are all using fencing.

-All Guard and then being able to recall is a huge safety net. I've already had it happen multiple times where I get hit by a flamestrike and a fireball from a tamers pets (basically could have been insta-killed in certain situations if they cast with it), offscreen the pets and come back 5 seconds later and they're gone. Letting them recall off an all guard is one thing, but I don't think their pets should be able to go with them if they've attacked me. Being flagged as "in-battle" should apply to pets, if they want to use them as a safety net they should risk losing them. I know this is gonna cause a lot of tamer tears, but just know that I take liberty in killing all of your pets if you try and use them against me. IMO you should have 2 options, run away or fight; so I'm not sure why being able to potentially fish for a cheap kill & then recall out exists as a 3rd option.

-Sallos is a huge crutch and you are putting yourself at a disadvantage by not using it. The only reason I haven't switched is because I'm working on a part for the PVP video contest, once I'm done with that I'll undoubtedly switch. I can instantly tell which people are using it when I fight against them, and frankly I'm not even sure why something so imba is even allowed.

All-in-all I would say these are minor gripes that I have so far. I'm loving the PVP on this shard it's the most fun I've had playing UO. I actually appreciate the statloss (something I never thought I'd say) because of how it ties in with the bounty system, it really balances out the risk vs reward on this shard. So far I've had a great experience PVPing and have 2 more PVP chars in the works, I'll finish at least one of them up before I put out my video for the contest.

Nox dexers are countered with one pot, no need to change anything. Learn to time your pots correctly.

If you attack the tamer they should be able to recall with pets, just like you can recall if they attack you. If they attack first they will be stuck just like you will be if you attack first. Its working the way it is supposed to, no changes needed.

I personally think everyone should just use razor, I use it and it works just fine. But I know a large portion of the pvp community are babies who will quit if they can't use their client, so I say just leave it.

I pretty much only run solo on mages, and I have none of the above issues. I kill nox dexers, and tamers both, and even get kills on salos users.

I don't know why I'm posting this, but you could always use orange petals instead of cure pots. please don't PK me.

Petals are good if you just started you bandage but if its about to go off you want to drink a pot so you get the heal rather than the cure. But still a good suggestion, rather than calling for Nerf.

1 pot, lol. They poison you every other hit, so unless you only get hit with 2 swings its gonna take more than 1 pot.

Apparently you don't know how it works. You aren't stuck if you attack first, you are stuck if you fight back period. If you are blue and a red attacks you and you hit back, you can't just recall out you get "wouldst thou flee during battle." That's why I'm saying it doesn't make sense for their pet to be able to attack you and then recall right out with them. Honestly they probably shouldn't be able to recall out at all if their pet attacks you; that's why I'm suggesting a middle-ground where if the pet attacks you let them still recall but the pet stays. This is only in regard to the "All Guard" command, "All Kill" already flags them as "in battle" & prevents them from recalling.

I personally think everyone should just use razor, I use it and it works just fine. But I know a large portion of the pvp community are babies who will quit if they can't use their client, so I say just leave it.

I stopped using razor when my last target hotkey started fucking up & almost got me killed. I switched to UOSteam & I can honestly say it's much better than razor in all aspects. Took me a few days to adjust, but razor is now a thing of the past.

Good idea I'm gonna have to start carrying those in my 50k gear bags.

Guys please keep in mind, this is basically a "first impressions" post in relation to my solo red experience thus far. Overall I'd say the PVP is the most balanced I've experienced these are just the little things I've noticed so far.

Red or blue, you do not get the heat of battle message unless you are the aggressor. If someone else instigates an attack you are free to respond with however much force you want and still freely recall at any time.

The only flagging rules that are different are for factions, orange vs orange.

yes your pets should be allowed to recall with you. Im all for reds and balance but my pets have been getting ganked or led away enough by reds lately. Last thing I need is to worry about losing my pets every time i get attacked. i spend ALLOT of time rebuilding my pets if pks are on their game or im not. Sometimes they get me, sometimes they dont. if you dont like pking tamers dont pk them. if you dont like pking dexxers, dont kill dexxers....or maybe work on pvp skills? im not a good pvp'er either but this i know

What is so imbalanced about Sallos in your eyes?

I want to know this as well, how can you tell if someone is using sallos? What imbalance does it cause, because I'm not seeing it, and I use all the clients. Steam can create some crazy scripts like auto-pouch/cure/heal, while sallos maybe has better targeting?

they give up 100 skill points to get 40% chance and they also have to carry DP potions to repoison, because even when they dont poison they lose charges. also if you are not carrying at least 15 GC pots you need to start. time your cure pots to either right before the poison tic or right before your aids go off, also pay attention to your swing timer, wait till you swing, then drink and rearm, that way you lose less DPS. and learn to dodge when you need to keep some distance, and joust them with your hard hitting axe or war hammer, rather than letting them take advantage of their fast swinging weapon. poison dexers are only really dangerous if you are in a 10x10 pit on foot.

sorry but you are the one who doesnt know how it works, please see @Bromista s post

I pvp with razor and the only time if fucks up is when i am spaming my Miniheal/cure self hot key and forget to clear target.

if you are worried about the cost make a mage, they have a lot less to lose and offer a lot more control in PVP, i recommend a heal mage. as its a great solo build and easy to use to learn PVP.

As its your first experience you should be asking questions regarding things you are having issues with, rather than calling for nerfs because you dont understand how to counter something. All PVP builds are pretty balanced as it is, i would not like to see nerfs to any builds, and tamers have already been nerfed to the point where i only use mine for RDAs, cause they are nothing more than a giant grief target. if you have any questions about other PVP issues i recommend asking some others before calling for nerfs.

I think being able to reapply poison on the field makes it worth it on its own, just my opinion.

I'm not worried about the cost I solo with full invuln and gold ruinics, working on my second alchy dexer now. I prefer mage for group fights & dexer for solo PKing. Solo mages very rarely are able to PK me on my bard with just 80 resist, it does happens sometimes but I get away probably 90% of the time. Im using maces are the moment but my next char will be fencer/poisoiner (everyone's doing it).

I'm not calling for nerfs I'm stating facts. Every single Solo PK that I have encountered in the last month has been either a Fencer with poison weapons or an alchy mage. It's pretty clearly the best for solo PKing, I just don't see why being able to poison your weapon on the field isn't enough for them, 40% is just a ridiculous rate to be applying DP I don't see how you can even dispute this. I have the orange petals now just to counter them, good to know because I was having to chug 20 orange pots before and would still run out if they re-apply one time; not to mention I basically have to reset every time I'm poisoned because I have to re-equip my weapon & get my stats back up

nothing you said is a fact other than yes they have a 40% chance, and you were calling for nerfs. you have 80% chance to cure it with one pot so stop exaggerating and pretending you used 20 pots on one poison. PKs use nox fencers to disrupt and prevent heals on PVMers that don't carry pots, but you wont see many nox fencers trying to actually PVP. Go spend 400k+ and make a nox fencer and find out how under whelming it really is.

I fight nox fencers all the time and have no issues with them. they are not OP at all as far as i have seen. the only time they are even really dangerous is when you are on foot in a 10x10 pit with them.

I solo PK on my heal mages and i know many other do as well. you are not stating facts everything you are saying is based off your opinion with one week of PKing.

anyways best of luck to you in your PK endeavors.
