Double clicking raw meat doesn't produce target cursor...

Is this a bug? I logged out and logged back in and I never get a cursor to target a heat source. Am I missing something? Do I need greater than zero cooking skill to start this? Do I need a certain tool in my inventory? I looked around a bunch and couldn't find it. I even had a nice fellow teach me about using a dagger to acquire kindling from trees.

No its not a bug. in this game you dont cook by double clicking the food, use a frying pan or some other cooking utensils
