Do I need swordsmanship as an axe user?

Does swordsmanship help lumberjacks / axe only users? I was thinking if I could drop it, I could use something else in it's place.

Yeah, swords is the weapon skill and lumberjack is the support skill. If you'd rather have a different skill, you can always switch to a macer or fencer and replace lumberjacking with the standard alchy, scribe, poison, hiding, whatever.

Need is such a strong word! What came first though, the axe or the LJ? Do you need LJ as a dexxer? That is the better question!
