Do event items drop into the pack or on corpse only

Except for Power Scrolls at champ spawns, all items (loot) stays on the monster's corpse for you to then loot.

and Except for the monster of the month .. the statuette used to remain on corpse, they have changed it to going into a participants pack .. the conditions (ie most damage or just random ) im unsure of.

Yeah, you are right there. Hard to keep up with all the one-off changes.
