Do not do business with user @Casey. He is a dishonest scumbag who goes back on his deals and tries to squeeze people for more money after he has agreed upon a price.

Looks like he tried to meet with you. You didn't hook up. Then he got a better offer.

It would have been upstanding of him to hold on, but it wasn't unreasonable of him to assume the deal might not go through and entertain other offers. He gave you a chance to match (not beat) the best one.

Dude, 500k is definitely a lot extra.

Although bad selling on their part, i don't think public shaming is a great idea when they may unfamiliar with the trade forums.

I believe it was an auction that had already ended and they got offered the better price afterwards.

Didn't know that, but I'm not sure it makes a big difference. If the seller had reason to believe the buyer wasn't going to follow through, then it's not unreasonable for him to consider the item as back on the market. It would have been selfless of him to hold and wait to see if the first buyer was going to take it, but I don't think he was under any real obligation to do that.

In philosophy jargon: waiting would have been praiseworthy but not obligatory.

ProdigyOsi already told him that he will be on after work, and it was the seller who canceled the trade at brit bank first (to go to bed), if a seller is allowed to sell the item to someone else after the auction is ended, it's pointless to bid anything here.

With the different time zones and countries we have here, at least 3 days (if not more) should be standard before re-listing or going with the next highest (or in this case higher) bid. Just my opinion on the matter in general.

It was in no part due to a belief that I was not going to hold up my end and I had not missed some "reasonable window" within which to purchase the item. That should be evident in the messages and timestamps.

It is, I think you got shafted personally. I can understand the sellers perspective, I just don't agree with it. A lot of unscrupulous (my word for the week) things have been happening as of late.

I'm curious what was the item that worth 3.5 mil and can be sold by a new player? I as a new player would like to have one, too.

This seems to be a new trend .. Same thing happened to me last week with Evilacid not fulfilling an agreed upon deal . and then wrekognize attempted to extort me to pay over 2mil for what was originally a 625k deal .

My experience on the forums has been that if a person doesn't show up, they changed their mind. I rarely manage to get a hold of them after that. Hexoplex more or less summed up my thoughts: I can understand the seller's perspective, but I'm not a fan of it. If you make a deal, you should put in a fair effort to see it through (goes for buyers and sellers).

I suggest staff to make a UOF-eBay website, list all your rares there, both sellers and buyers will receive trustworthy points, the UOF-eBay account links to your character, everyone can see it in game . =P

Nothing new. Shady buy/sell/trade happens here every damn day.

It's like the wild fuckin' west here sometimes. Saddle up and enjoy the ride.

We tried haggling a bit and then I got the "some guy is offering me 3 million so you need to offer more." And then I offered more. And then I didn't hear back.

I hate PM auctions. Such bullshit.
