Dexxer Prov Combo Help Please

Hello Forum,

My name is Duke and I just returned after a 4yr break and before that playing a dif server for almost a century, anyhow I'm a bit rusty and would greatly appreciate any info to rejog my memory..... This is my template currently:

Anatomy
Healing
Swords
Tactics
Musicianship
Prov
Hiding

Questions:
Without magery I can't cast reactive armor(I think thats the magery shield) to prevent the para > expo > para > expo from newb mages.... soooo any advice?

Without resisting spells its a bit hard to resist the para's. Everyone of them land on me sooo any advice?

I was considering droping anatomy and spliting the 100pts between magery and resist.... I can usally get one bandaid to fire within a fight/gank but usally I don't get the 2nd off before I drop so i could possible combo a mini heal or a cure in there but the cast time is the toss up..... Whats yalls opinon?

in this era resist reduces spell damage and doesn't effect para/curse. also its magic reflect that blocks spells not reactive armor.
dont drop anatomy you need it for healing. if you are fighting run and hide, run hide and use bandages. can live well with that and if you carry lots of gheal/gcure.

if i would do a dex/provo
100 weapon skill, i would do archery
100 tactics
100 provo
100 music
100 hiding
95 healing
80 anatomy
25 magery

You just need to carry trapped pouches to counter paralyze. If you don't have magery, use another character to cast magic trap on several pouches and transfer them to your bard. Then add all of the trapped pouches to the "Use Once" agent. Last, assign a hotkey to use the pouches in the Use Once agent, and as soon as you're paralyzed just press the hotkey and keep running. It sounds complicated at first but it's an incredibly easy and effective way to counter paralyze. For that reason, PK's rarely bother even casting paralyze. They would much rather try to get off a stun punch.

You need anat for healing. The other option is to drop both anat and healing, and instead get Magery and Mediation. Use magery for healing and utility, and meditation to recover mana. If you are paying attention, getting off a recall before you start getting attacked is pretty easy.

Splitting 100 pts between magery and resist is pointless, because neither skill level will be enough to accomplish its task. You'd be better off with some combination of Magery and Meditation. But if you did that, you would want to get rid of Hiding, not anatomy.

If you are getting ganked, trying to cast cure or mini heals is a waste of time unless you have high magery. Even then, you are probably much better off drinking potions and running for your life. Bards that try to stick around and heal or fight are easy kills for most players.

*ALWAYS BE MOUNTED*

Don't let everyone convince you *HAVE* to have archery. I run fencing/provo and do just fine. Without archery you just need to be more mindful of your hp. Know your limitations. For example, a fire breathe damage from a dragon is dependent on its health. If it is running away from you: wait for that a bandage to finish while you loot what is already dead. Then chase it down. This assumes you are also being mindful of the weapon you are using and stamina as well. Some of this comes with experience; some of it is common sense. You can't expect to do very much at 10% stamina using a halberd. Try switching to a one-handed weapon, katana in your case.

*ALWAYS BE MOUNTED*

As far as being attacked by another player goes. When you see a red name appear just run. It can be more difficult than that you need to know the spawn and terrain you are around, but that can only come with experience. Most reds aren't going to run up and paralyze you first thing (unless they ALREADY know that is an effective tactic against you). Pre-trapped pouches can be bought from Provisioners in town. They are highlighted red and directly underneath untrapped pouches. Personally, I don't carry pots or pouches, because I run, normally PKs will only get a explo e-botl combo off on me if they catch me off guard. Bandages have a timer but you can start applying them on the run. Do I die? Absolutely, but that is a BIG part of this game. Find a way to be okay with dieing.

*ALWAYS BE MOUNTED*

If you find that you are getting PKed on a regular basis by the same people it would be wise to watch who is entering and leaving your area. If you seeing the same blue names, followed by the same red names, they are more than likely the same person on a different account. Tracking works at 0 skill (after a few attempts) so you might also be able to see if there are any nefarious stealthers in your neighborhood.

*ALWAYS BE MOUNTED*

Finally, bank often. You find a skill scroll? Recall. Got 4k in your bag? Recall. Rare drop? Yep, still recalling. Recall scrolls are 30gp at the right places. A GM weapon and a dexxer suit is gonna run you about 2k. Vary where you are farming. If you just hit Deceit go to Shame or Destard or Wrong... or anywhere new (there are some nice overland spawns that are not often checked by PKs). Find places that work for you. Everyone can tell you where some nice spots are.. but they have to work for you.

Have I mentioned you should ALWAYS BE MOUNTED, PKS aren't going to be running around on foot. Donate 20 bucks or save up 130-160k for enough dono coins to buy yourself an ethy.
