cost of building a custom house

I'm looking for a starter home, mediumish size.... the 2 story villa is nice, maybe slightly bigger.

But I'm debating between classic houses and custom built. How expensive is it to build a custom home once you place the plot? I know it depends on the design, I'm just looking for ballparks here. If I bought a 10x12 EG, How much would it cost to build it up will walls & ceilings, staircase, and just basic decor? Are we talking 10k, 100k, more? I really have no clue.

So for a 2 story 10x12, it sounds like I should expect north of 100k? just for basic floors, ceilings, roof? Is that right?

No idea but seems logical. I always wondered why ppl had houses that were just floor, I thought it was a money problem. I have a custom now, kept procrastinating and haven't even tried to build onto it yet
