Client help?

So this is what I did:

1. Downloaded the client from here and fully patched: http://uo.com/client-download/
2. Installed the UO forever installer, went to "update manager" and patched there.
3. (just an FYI, I run Windows 10)

I'm having three issues...

1. My entire screen will "blink" while playing, (I get opaque/white , then I'm good to go, it lasts about .5 seconds).
2. My client will sometimes crash, more often than I'd like (once every 30 minutes).
3. After a crash, when I login, my character will be somewhere else on the map. I can be out fishing in a boat, crash, log back in again and I'm in front of someone's house!

Any ideas??

Using razor/uosteam ? my guess would be you need to disable the windows aero bullshit ( if windows 10 still uses it)

do the folowing for both razor.exe/uosteam.exe and client.exe

1 Right click open props
2 Goto comptability tab
3 Select compatabilty xp (sp3), disable Visual themes , disable desktop comp and run in admin mode

Not sure if u do this exactly the same way for windows 10 or not but its something simlar

You using Razor? Check to see if "Use smart CPU usage reduction" is not checked. This doesn't really help most people.

Curious question.... I thought maybe it had something to do with me not using the UOF launcher... So I am in the middle of uninstalling everything and going 100% off the UOF launcher.

Here's my question:

1. UOFlauncher doesn't seem to patch the client. I mean, it does some files:

artLegacyMUL.uop
map0LegacyMUL.uop
multi.mul
etc....

My question is, should I patch the UO client by running uopatch.exe, THEN use UOF Launcher to patch the other files?

You dont need the launcher to run UOF. You need the updated Artlegacy ect to see the custom content so the patcher will jsut update the files it needs to.

UOF will still run with the EA client you just wont see alot of stuff and wont be able goto some areas


but yea you should let the game patch from EA.com first
