Castle Issues

Tried to post this in the big reports thread but it wouldn't let me, so you guys can help me out. I placed a cellar in my castle as of recently, and there's two things that don't seen to be working the way they should.

1. When I chose the floor in my cellar, I was stuck with it, I like my floor and all, but you should be able to browse through the options and see which suits you best, idk if that's a bug or just the way it is, but you should be able to test run the floor. I even tried re-deeding with an axe and replacing, it just sticks with the same floor.

2. Ever since I placed the cellar you can't set anything on the ground in the courtyard. Like it just refuses to let anything on the ground.

:scratches his head:

Help?

1. You should of checked the forum first and searched for the cellars you would of seen post with screenshots of what they look like. Just within 5 seconds of search I found. http://uoforum.com/threads/core-upgrade-test-server.26511/#post-165837 other threads have them as well. Once you choose your design your locked in. Also due to the way it was scripted you can't redeed and make it capable of changing it's style every time would likely cause a crash.

2. It's because the cellar takes the full shape of the house region and overrides lockdown permissions. regions don't change by Z level. No matter how high up or how low something is the region rules remain the same. When you add that cellar it overrides your courtyard rules. It doesn't think of the courtyard as a grassy area it thinks the courtyard is floating in the air above the cellar which as you know you can't toss things in the air and lock them down.

Yeah cuz the first thing I wanna do is go search the forums after I drop all that gold. There should be at least a mention when you buy it that you're stuck with the floor you choose.

Just imagine it from my perspective bud. This being my first server, I had just spent 3 mill on my first cellar ever, first thing I'm gonna do is run home and place it. When you buy a house there's that huge prompt saying " be careful this shit can be stolen". Why not something like that? I'm not trying too offend you guys, only offering suggestions

You do it before you drop all that gold.

Lol that's only gonna off put people from getting one, something so expensive should be user friendly. So no duck worth I couldn't disagree more

Something that expensive should be dealt with, with a measure of diligence. Sometimes people have more dollars then cents(sense).. *see what i did there?*

Yeah now that I've had to deal with all this they're not worth it, your house deco tool dosent work down there either, you can turn stuff, but no up or down, it's a cool place for me to throw the statues I get now

Ya I always prefer to do no research before dropping 3m then complain that my hand wasn't held through the whole process.

PS. Please add a Gump that will warn me that casting my spell will permanently remove my reagents as I have spent gold on these and shouldn't have them disappear without warning.

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a warning that you can only choose the floor once. Everything else that is able to be re-deeded works this way and cellars are the exception.

Kinda sucks too for house deco ppl because of the deco tool issue, as well as some items appearing poorly (tiles missing on rugs etc).

Glad I went with grass for mine I guess, makes for a nice private park area.

Dude it's a video game, and you're talking about doing research? This ain't no college paper fool, and I REALLY don't think you can compare regs, worth 3-5 gold a pop to a one time 3 million gold sink. Actually you can't compare the two. I didn't ask for someone to hold my hand, I asked to have pretty necessary information displayed somewhere other than a forum post made months and months ago. So no, you're wrong AF

So long story short. Could it be better? Yes. Who's fault is it ultimately? The buyer. Are you going on some insane rant about it? No.
So moral of the story is as always in uo buyer beware and at some point if time presents itself the Devs can look at adding some more info to the cellar description.

This thread was posted so I could acquire some information, not to blame anyone, although everytime Carl answers a question for me he's so defensive he must think I'm blaming him? As well as the rest of you. When I offer suggestions it's only cuz I'm trying to make this experience a tad less stressful on everyone, but instead you attack me personally, saying I'm lazy? I don't understand you people. Ever.

Anyways, buy a cellar everyone, and do a 3 page research paper on anything you buy in game.

LOL dude it's not just you, @Carl is that way to everyone.

When he's actually mad you will know because your face will be eaten and also your balls will probably be ripped off, similar to a chimp attack.
