So about 5 of us spent well over an HOUR killing this thing and only 2 people got blood because right as he died he set of all his AOE and killed us!

Doesn't sound right. This morning I noticed the vial of blood appeared in my pack BEFORE he died. Just before, but he was still alive when I saw the vial. Check your pack. Its blessed so it didnt rot away on your body nor get stolen.

Not everyone gets the vial. I received the power scroll this morning but I did not get a vial. I would have preferred a vial over 105 mining.

Yes, it does take awhile. and the stacking of the Ward effects on top of his AOE is beyond deadly....

Is it possiable to dodge the aoe by running out the room into the treasure chest room to break los?

it will follow you for some... if u run around it will stop following
but if u are too close to the mob when the aoe start u are insta dead

We just accepted the fact that we were going to die a hundred deaths and traveled light. The demon will turn your corpse into bones and your stuff is thus lootable by anyone. Don't go in there with anything you don't want to lose.
I was able to deal a good bit of damage to the demon in a piecemeal fashion. Wearing nothing but a sword, a shield, and a smile I would tank the demon until he would poison me or insta-kill me with the red ball. Res and repeat. Keep some bandages by the ankh.

Yeah sounds like you're a little early. Give it time, he'll show up
