All this "Shop Here!" spam!

I was just thinking, is there a way to make like one say NPC that you could go up and click on, whom has info on all the vendor houses with a general description of their wares and if you wish to visit whichever vendor house you choose, this NPC opens a gate to that vendor house for you.. Each houses shop owner could leave their shop info with this NPC along with their shop location, and it would clear a BUNCH of spam and people afk in brit opening gates all over the place.. I don't know though how we could make it to where people don't abuse this system and send gates all over the place though..

I do agree though, they are quiet annoying sometimes.., if the gate bots (including my own) would move to the area with the faction signup stones, and spread out as to not cover each others spamming.. that would be great. make that the designated store gate bot area.

You wouldnt need to, anyone wanting to shop would click the npc in brit and your shop info would be displayed along with the other shops and people could choose from there to what shop they would like to travel to.. I haven't really thought that much into it just trying to brainstorm ways to clean up some spam

I was thinking something like you provide your shop information to this npc, what you sell along with location, and the npc have the capability to send you to that shop.. sorry I know I'm not the best at explaining myself hehe

i get what your meaning, but that way would be a bit unfair to some shops that change what they sell. im not trying to bash your idea.

True, it would put a lot of pressure on shop owners to keep up to date on everything which could be a lot of work

it would turn off some.. like me, I would probably pick the option that said i sell "stuff" and call it good. would be a neat idea to see how it would be fleshed out and work.. Or make it have an inventory search feature, where shop owners wouldn't have to do anything. buyers would search for what they want and then it list the sellers and prices, with toggles for high to low price.. then make it use either reagents or a recall scroll from your backpack to recall to the shop.

maybe make the shop owners provide a rune to their shoppe.

Right? good ideas! I think they could make something work.. Just seems like Brit is hard to even associate in anymore there is so much spam! I like that there are a lot of shops, the more the better, but there's got to be a way to clean some of it up

On Defiance AoS you could shop all vendors in the world from anywhere. I forget exactly how it worked but it was something like you type a command and it brings up a gump with a list of all the vendors and you can click on each vendor to see what it has for sale. And then you could just buy directly through that gump. Would be really convenient for when you're trying to find a certain item instead of having to run all over the world trying to find random vendors out in the woods who may have what you're looking for.

Would be much nicer to type in a few things or whatever to find those last couple skill scrolls instead of running around for an hour hehe

Or.........if you're that annoyed with the spam....you could simply go into the options under your paperdoll and add the names of people who spam at the bank to your ignore list.

But that one came in hand the last time there was a castle raffle.....and people were spamming like crazy at the bank, lagging me out.
Just remember to check your list periodically. I was talking to a guy one time and had no idea why he wasn't answering me back....until a few weeks later when i realized he was on my ignore list from castle raffle night lol
