all the silver coins are gone. i know it was written in patch notes, but i thought u meant the silver in town treasuries, the coins used to hire guards etc....

all my hard earned silver is gone, i farmed a lot of them thinking they will be worth a lot... i dont think this is fair at all .

Of course it's fair, now everone has to start from scratch. Why would it be fair for you to immediately purchase every single item? Now more people will be out farming, generating more action.

Everyone lost their silver. Not just you.

A reset was required so that people would be unable to purchase the faction rewards and faction bless their items right off the bat. The purpose of the rewards was to get people participating in factions from this point on. To facilitate this, faction silver had to be deleted. The other option would have been to make a new currency but that would still render your silver useless and would cause us to have another unneeded currency.

Even with this explanation, I am not sure I understand why deleting silver was necessary. Seems like it is a punishment for those that were already active on factions prior to any new incentives.

Necessary "punishment" IMO. Besides anyone who has a large amount of silver more than likely got it by farming daemons etc, which while has a point isn't really the main focus of factions. I've seen people hunting daemons before who I assume never participate in the PvP aspect (could be wrong).

Sucks for those people tho I guess

Not sure your argument is valid either. Because they worked for it they don't deserve it? Why do you think opposing faction monsters exist and provide silver?

Factions was seriously in hurts-ville.

We needed to make some serious changes, and serious decisions about the entire system- and that is exactly what we did.

We are balancing, making it more worthy, making incentives and ultimately making it more entertaining - ALL things that factions previously lacked.

This was all necessary!

Only thing I might suggest and may not be possible now would be to have transferred all existing silver into current gold value rather that a straight delete.

Deleting it was a good idea I was very active in factions with my guild and we had a easy 30-40k stock piled. Factions is there for high end / end game pvp the deleting of silver will encourage more people to join and fight for awards.
