I have had 2 bonded beetles now just randomly release while i'm out mining. Both only lasted about a month where fed daily (even after the bonding process). Any ideas of wtf is going on?

Do you use a script to acess the backpack? While there is a confirmation for release it may have caused the problem. This is my only guess besides not feeding them enough especially if you were out for quite some time.

Honestly you probably aren't feeding it enough. You're working it too hard and not letting it rest.
They don't just eat once daily.

Okay, rarely does it ever say your pet looks much happier and i wasnt aware that a bonded pet could release even w/o feeding it. Is that to this server or have i been playing some relaxed servers?

Well, you can always lore it, but yeah, if you're going to work a pet, it should eat periodically, it always says 'your pet looks happier'
but just how happy is it ? Unhappy? Happy? Very happy? Wonderfully happy?
I'd get someone to lore your beetle for you, or just feed it more often if you're leaving it out all the time and putting it to work.
