2 Small but Important Nerfs for Reds

I play a red. My entire guild plays a red. I've always played a red(on OSI, on uoforever). UOF needs reds. However, if you're a red, it means you are down to PVP, and thus you should get a slightly tougher life(as you're not a newb, youre a killer).

1. If you're red and you get flagged, you cannot insta recall. Sorry but you're red, you are looking for PVP, and are most likely ready to prey upon a newb bard who is looking to farm so if someone flags you, time to fight or get a gate out.

2. If you're a red and you come out of your house to attack/flag/drop spells on someone, sorry you cannot go back in. If you're a blue and someone comes to your house then you should be allowed to house fight all you want. If you're red, sorry -- you're looking for PVP, if you pop out to kill one of the people at your house, you better be ready to kill them all.

Thoughts?

1. Makes it harder on solo reds as you would almost never get away from a gank and I think it would encourage ganks. I like how it is now, where if you flag you on someone are unable to recall, go through a gate or gate out. I would like to hear more opinions

You're a red...solo or not, you have set your noto status as looking for PVP. You're there to kill people so if someone tries to kill you instead, man up.

Also, one thing I keep mentioning is a Guild size cap.

if you're red, you're looking for PvP. sorry, you can't hide behind a zerg, you can't win. No.

This is obviously overpowering when players can group up with a much larger group and do idocs/champs/etc. It's even worth it if you get enough people on the poor-sportsmanship bandwagon to charge 100k join fees, because they can probably get their moneys worth considering UO is easy mode when you have a screen full of meat shields.

Basically the fix is this: Put a limit on the size of a guild. Force red characters to always show guild tag. If you're caught teaming up with other red groups on the field, at champs or at idocs, then you get jailed for 24 hours.

I think 8 is a nice size but my girlfriend thinks 9 might be a better fit.

I forgot EQMS is the only guild capable of forming an army... its funny how we are the only guild to make people pay to join and yet we keep getting more and more members. Am I just that charming?

@GluttonySDS If you're really there for the thrill of the fight, then man up and stop playing like a sissy, trying to get game mechanics changed because you lack skill. I've never seen your guild use cutoff runes, or invis yourselves or anything really. Now you're here complaining about every method a solo player has to avoid your zerg.

My advice: if it's really fame you're seeking, then stop trying to crush the competition through game mechanics changes and adapt. I know you're just jelly tho since I wouldn't sell u the crib for 20 mills. I hope they do try it out, see how it works. A little live testing can't hurt anybody, right??

i'll 1v1, 2v1, and 3v1 on my red any day, Its the 4-6 blue man zergs that make me reach for the recall button(if i haven't flagged)

Definitely agree with this and I play solo pk. I would also suggest making blues unable to flee or use their house if they have murder counts. Might make things a bit more entertaining.

I would also be down with this as it extended to anyone with a count on uoforever(fuck blue PKs) but I started small with my suggestion. This is how it should be though.

This just discourages solo and small groups of reds, and encourages just flagging on a red and calling in the cavalry.

And as annoying as house hiders have always been in the entire history of UO, houses are meant to be a player's safe haven. Don't fight someone near their home, or understand that they have a fortress to fall back to.

As someone mentioned above, these suggestions are very clearly designed to benefit the play style of OP's large guild.

Factions have these rulesets already because these rulesets make sense for PVP minded players. Reds are PVP minded players.

If your heart is true, dont kill blue.

Pretty much that... if you're a red, youve made the choice to embrace the PVP lifestyle(even if youre only PVPing against farmers). If you are about that life, you need to accept that things like recalling while flagged or leaving house, attacking someone, and then running right back in arent part of that life.

Agreed.
The core reason to be a red/murderer is to pvp with risk.
Solo or not, the function of this kind of character is player hunting not monster hunting.
Flagging issues are the biggest issues to start with. Running around on a red like it or not, you're out to fight. There is no difference besides the ability to bail to this than setting up a duel in the duel pit.
Red or Blue you can shake off people from a chase if you're smart about it.
If you're red by mistake then don't leave home or don't res.
The risk needs to return to many issues.
