Not sure I understand the comments that claim slayer spellbooks are worthless. As someone mentioned, even lesser spellbooks like dragon slaying can let you just steamroll through a dungeon (destard in this case). Or if you come across a paragon that might be a bit much for a solo meta mage...
I really like the concept.
I lean towards making it craftable by those that have 120 of a skill or even a set of skills (120 tinker and 120 scribe for legendary scribe pens, for example). It would give value to those that spent the time to get 120 skill and also create a new market for these...
I also built a cheap support char for Tmaps (and other things)
100 Lockpicking
100 Hiding
100 Magery
100 Tracking
100 Item ID
80 Stealth
70 Cartography
50 Meditation
The logic behind this template was to a be a multi-use support, not just for Tmaps but for several different aspects of the...
I have never complained about haystacks nor have I reported anyone for using them. In fact, I don't think I have ever reported anyone for anything, ever. So I think I can retain my opinion about keeping things sandbox. Thanks, though.
I agree that the less rules the better. Keep it sandbox. No rubber-banding at all.
The exception might be Wrong. Being able to lure the champ in a house or boat or in town (guard whacked?) seems silly and would likely be unintended consequences of having it in a non-dungeon location. If...
^ this.
I don't think I have ever bought a head back on my PK. A while back a POWER red sold my head back for 1 gp and I couldn't even accept because I didn't keep gold in that char's bank lol.
I take wild risks on my PK's and I don't give a damn if they die. You know the consequences are...
Hah, agree with Kevin here.
Maybe if it was an extra +100 points that can only be used a unique set of extra skills that had no meaningful impact on the game. Such as, all of your chars on the account get GM Item ID and it doesn't count towards your skill count. That would be a nice little...
I would do what you think is most fun and fits your play style the best. If there was a single weapon that was best for every situation, that would be the only weapon everyone used.
If I was into group PvPing (or PKing), I would choose a spear.
If I was into solo PvPing, I would choose a...

Recalling around with pets and instantly to hot spots is already very easy. No need to make it even easier. If you want the convenience of quick recalling, I think you should have to use the backpack space and weight of runebooks as they are.
I strongly agree with this advice ^
Once you get the knack of something and understand the niche, you can amass gold through just about any avenue. But you'll get burned out if you aren't enjoying yourself. I wouldn't worry about gold per minute calculations. Just have fun and try to master...

It's a minor annoyance but it is an annoyance. This really doesn't have an impact on game play, it just means less tedious refilling of runebooks.
I'm not really sure how making gate 3rd circle even compares to this suggestion (obviously a troll, but just not a great analogy of...
So this is the build I use
700 total skill points
100: swords, tact, resist, hiding
80: alchemy
90: healing, anat
40 poison
This is a mean and dirty dungeon PK where I take a lot of risks, hence the hiding (which has gotten me out of lots of situations).
This is by far the most fun PK build I...
You really want Alchemy as a skill on a PK char. Keep in mind that almost all of your victims are going to try to run or recall away. So you need to chase them down and disrupt recalls/heals. The damage from high alchemy goes a very long way in chasing them down. I can't tell you how many...
